Tibetan Prayer Beads

$45.00

A Tibetan prayer bead necklace is called a mala. It usually contains a strand of 108 handmade beads and is ended with a tassel. Malas can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet and it is used to count mantra while meditating. Coming from the ancient Sanskrit language of India and Nepal, mala translates to 'garland' in English. This is much like a rosary which in Latin means 'garland of roses.'

This mala is made from 9mm yak bone beads that have been inlaid alternately with crushed turquoise and mountain coral, or a copper wire band. It is a beautiful traditional handcraft that's intention is to remind one to live in the present moment and to be loving and compassion in this world. Mala length is 28 inches above the tassel.
